Strategy Sells Another 1,690 Bitcoin as Cash Reserve Hits $4.65B

Strategy sold 1,690 Bitcoin between August 3 and August 9 for $108.6 million, at an average price of $64,262 per BTC. The transaction marked its second consecutive weekly Bitcoin sale and reduced the company’s holdings to 840,447 BTC.
According to Strategy’s August 10 Form 8-K filing, all net proceeds from the Bitcoin sale funded repurchases of its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, or STRC. Strategy bought back 1,152,020 STRC shares for $108.6 million, leaving $785.2 million available under its preferred-stock repurchase authorization.
The company also sold 6,585,682 MSTR common shares during the week, generating $653.1 million in net proceeds. It directed $650 million into its U.S. dollar reserve and added the remaining $3.1 million to its general cash balance. The reserve stood at $4.65 billion as of August 9, including expected proceeds from shares that had not yet settled.

The sale extends the balance-sheet shift seen in Strategy’s previous 1,638 BTC disposal, bringing two-week Bitcoin sales to 3,328 BTC worth roughly $213.3 million.
Strategy still holds 840,447 BTC acquired for $63.36 billion, at an average purchase price of $75,385 per coin, leaving Bitcoin firmly at the center of its balance sheet even as it increasingly serves as a source of liquidity.
